01 Overview & Problem

Euromonitor leads the world in data analytics and research into markets, industries, economies & consumers, they provide truly global insight and data on thousands of products and services & are the first destination for organisations who are seeking growth. With Euromonitor’s guidance, clients can make bold, strategic decisions with confidence.

Problem
Euromonitor is considering delivering an AI Assistant for its customers. The primary function of this agent will be to assist customers to find the data they are looking for & results and reports will be created using Euromonitor’s data and written insights.

Executive Summary & Solutions
To address this challenge, I designed a human-centred, fluid AI Assistant with an adaptive layout optimised for desktop, tablet & mobile use. The solution prioritises clarity, ease of navigation & personalised interaction, ensuring that users can engage with the assistant naturally, regardless of their device.

The design approach focuses on creating a seamless experience that feels intuitive, trustworthy & aligned with Euromonitor’s data-rich environment, ultimately empowering customers to explore insights with greater confidence & efficiency.

02 Research & Design Process

Research
Using the supplied information, including the brand guidelines & user personas provided by Euromonitor, I began by conducting desktop research into companies offering similar solutions. I focused particularly on data-heavy products with robust compliance standards, as these provided valuable insight into how complex information is communicated effectively. Platforms such as Vanta & Stripe served as key design references, illustrating how industry leaders establish clarity, trustworthiness & a sense of reliability through thoughtful visual hierarchy & interface patterns. I also drew inspiration from ChatGPT’s current layout, using its clean structure & intuitive interaction flow to help shape the overall user experience direction.

Challenge
A challenge I encountered early on was the limited nature of the brand guidelines supplied by Euromonitor. The provided assets were low-quality compressed JPGs, which restricted their usability within a professional design system. I visited Euromonitor’s website to source an SVG logo, but was surprised to find that the site only offered a PNG file (Euromonitor_masterlogo_colour_rgb_aw-1.png). To overcome this, I sourced an SVG version of the logo from Brandfetch.com, then refined & rebuilt the asset in Adobe Illustrator to ensure it met the required quality standards. Once finalised, I imported the updated SVG logo into Figma, allowing me to maintain scalability & visual consistency throughout the design process.

Insights – design simplification
After further investigation into the initial wireframe, I decided to remove the left side bar to simplify the design & make it more streamlined.

03 Solutions & Testing

I designed a fluid, adaptive layout for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, as current research shows that adaptive layouts for different screen sizes significantly improve the overall user experience.

Components

Testing
I tested the prototype using Figma’s prototyping feature & realised that the AI Assistant should address any logged-in user by name. And I integrated this feature into my design. Finally, I created interactive components to enhance usability and to provide engineers with a clear visual overview of the interface. I also added the ‘Dev Ready’ tag to the project to indicate that it was prepared for handoff.

04 Results & Impact

Impact
Customising the greeting for each login user produced a noticeably more user-centred product experience.
This personal touch will help users feel recognised & valued, but also created a more welcoming, humanised interaction with the product.
